Annette is an artist working with everyday items to bring the sense of nostalgia and memory to the viewer. Annette utilises the process of casting, using a range of materials, pewter, ceramics, plaster, cement and resin. she wants the audience to have empathy with her objects, which are intended to act as a catalyst for memory, with a desire to bring a sense of joy and a sense of humour. Her motivation is the reaction of others and their response to the cast objects and how these recall personal stories. Current work is a series of personal narratives that Annette asks you to experience through a range of senses, sight, sound and touch. Her work explores the idea of memory and how we recollect our memories, as author Jonathon Foster suggests ‘past experiences are influential in how we construct our memory.’
